This workshop is limited to attendees from institutions preparing for evaluation for Continued Affiliation. Non-affiliated institutions that have completed the Eligibility Process and are beginning the self-study process for initial affiliation should register for the Workshop on Self-Study.

The Pre-Conference Workshop on Self-Study is a vital component in the Commission’s program of support for institutions preparing for self-study. It is designed for persons who have been assigned responsibility for leading the self-study activities, writing the report, and preparing for the team visit. The Workshop offers practical advice on specific aspects of self-study and evaluation. More than 90 percent of institutions scheduled for evaluation review send representatives to the Workshop.

The Workshop is designed for institutional representatives working at institutions scheduled for evaluation review in the next three years.

The morning program is combined with the other Pathways workshops.

Conducting a Reaccreditation Review:  Adding Even More Complexity

Description: Western Illinois University received permission from HLC to add three special topics to our PEAQ self-study.  Presenters will discuss the structure of self study teams, the timeline for the process, and the hosting of the visiting team.  Specific examples of all aspects of the process will be provided
Target Audience: Self study coordinators and administrators who are responsible for planning for self studies.

Description: This session will outline a professional development and outreach program regarding the accreditation process for students, faculty, and staff.  The speakers will share details of how they built a program to raise awareness of the self-study process at their institution, and how other institutions can modify this program for their own use.
Target Audience: Those who are working on the self-study process and would like to enhance awareness on the part of the institutional community.

Energizing Your Campus Community for the HLC Site Team Visit

Description: A DUK Smart Phone app quiz, a Cabinet Music Video, DUK Dogs, DUK Races, a DUK Found Art competition, Duct Tape Costumes and more are helping the campuses of Northeastern State University to be able to tell site reviewers "Did U Know...." about NSU. As Dire Straits sang, "I want my HLC...."
Target Audience: Ideas on generating awareness 12-15 months before a site visit.

Description: This session focuses on an important component of the site visit – the resource room.  The speakers will explain the roles that both the physical and electronic “storage areas” play in the site visit process and how the electronic room will help transition the College into Pathways.
