Art Contest Winner

AC16artworkThe Higher Learning Commission is pleased to announce that Robert J. Thompson, a professor of graphic design at Youngstown State University, is the winner of the 2016 Annual Conference Art Contest. Mr. Thompson’s artwork was selected among 214 entries to be the design for HLC’s 2016 Annual Conference. It represents the Conference theme of “Beyond the Horizon,” with HLC and its member institutions depicted as hot air balloons heading toward the horizon. HLC congratulates Mr. Thompson and thanks all the artists who participated in the contest.

2016 Annual Conference – Save the Date

The 2016 Annual Conference will be held April 15-19, 2016, in Chicago. The 2016 Conference examines the relationship between higher learning and accreditation, and how innovation in higher learning affects that relationship "Beyond the Horizon." The Conference framework emphasizes that accreditation is an integral part of the success of students and it is constructed to provide resources for our member institutions to thrive in the future.

Call for Proposals – Open May 18

HLC invites presentation proposals for the 2016 Annual Conference addressing Beyond the Horizon through mission, integrity, teaching and learning, and institutional effectiveness.

HLC is seeking proposals that:

  • Reflect innovation
  • Stimulate and provoke discussion and audience engagement
  • Deliver best practices
  • Target new, mid-career, and seasoned professionals

HLC will accept proposals online between May 18, 2015, and July 31, 2015.
